I've only just got home, spent a lot longer out tonight than I really anticipated, so apologies for the delay in updating the JARRE UK Web-Site.

However, I have been in contact with the Powerstock Festival Organisers, who have told me that they are doing everything possible to try and reverse Jean Michel Jarre's cancellation. I will hopefully be speaking to them again tomorrow, and see if they have had any progress.

If they have no luck with this, I have also agreed to assist them in whatever way possible to provide Fans with the necessary information needed to obtain refunds.

Si cancerlar el concierto una vez ya es grave.... no sé que puede pasar después de:

2 cancelaciones de un mismo conciero en 48 horas sería ya la re-leche  :x

Bueno, sería seguir batiendo records... habría conseguido cancelar dos veces el mismo concierto!!!

Es que hay que tomarselo con humor... lo que se merece es que al final se haga el concierto y no vaya ni Dios. No se merece otra cosa.

Hello Fans,

Just an update for you...I've been on the phone with the Powerstock Festival Organisers for almost an hour this morning, trying to find out what exactly the situation is from their perspective, since I spoke to them yesterday.

All I can say, is that despite the official statement of the cancellation of the Concert from Aero Productions, the Powerstock Festival Organisers are continuing to negotiate with Jean Michel Jarre's Production Team, and believe they have a chance to solve the problems that have resulted in Jean Michel Jarre's cancellation, but they realise that they have to solve everything by the end of today.

They have agreed to keep me informed throughout the day of any progress they make, but they do believe it will be very late in the day before they really know the final outcome, which may not even be until the early hours of Sunday morning. I have given them permission to call me, no matter what time of night or morning, so that as soon as they know what is happening, I will know and subsequently you all will know too, as I will obviously pass the information on to you all, both through here and through JARRE UK.

Lo bueno del caso es que aunque se confirme a última hora, no necesita ningún ensayo, solo ponerse bajo el brazo el CD del concierto y las diapositivas de conciertos anteriores...

No, en serio, lo siento mucho por los que teníais tantos planes e ilusiones hechas, este tío es un mamón, un chufla de músico, y lo único que se merece es que paseis de él como del abono. Haced como Guille, teneis unas vacaciones ya pagadas en Italia...

Recordemos tambièn que segùn Jarreuk en la època de Gdansk ellos decìan (y no en el foro sino en la propia web) que el concierto estaba practicamente suspendido por problemas con TVP etc. y a la final todo saliò perfecto.

A mí me da que si cancela y descancela con tanta alegría es porque lo que se va a presentar en Italia va a ser un churro como una catedral.

Un concierto es algo que exige una dedicación de meses, aunque sea en secreto. Cosa que no es el caso en el conciertillo este por lo que he podido saber...  :|

JULY 6TH: Jean Michel Jarre's Management have confimed to JARRE UK today, that despite recent announcements by Polish Television and Polish Newspapers that Jean Michel Jarre's Concert in Gdansk, Poland has been cancelled, Jean Michel Jarre's Concert in Gdansk, Poland has NOT been cancelled, and negotiations are resuming in Warsaw as from tomorrow.

Jean Michel Jarre's Management issued the following Press Release to JARRE UK today, to give detailed information to Jean Michel Jarre Fans:-

"We would like to inform that on the 7th-8th July 2005, in Warsaw, there are to take place talks to finalize the preparations of the special concert of Jean Michel Jarre that is planned to be held on 27th August this year as the main artistic event of the 25th anniversary of signing the August Accords and the establishment of the Free Trade Union 'Solidarnosc'.

The City of Gdansk Foundation, Polish Public Television and the Lech Walesa Institute have managed to resume the negotiations regarding the organization of the concert, and the deadlock of this unique event has now been broken.

Jean Michel Jarre's Manager, Ms Fiona Commins, has immediately took up the talks to finalize the project and is working with great enthusiasm in order to sign the contract and to start the technical preparations.

The President of the Lech Walesa Institute, Piotr Gulczynski, spoke to Jean Michel Jarre's Management yesterday, and the interested entities along with Polish Public Television will reopen the talks tomorrow."

Lo mismo de siempre, llega miramos 4 cosas, no me gusta como estan, se cancela el concierto,luego me arrepiento y lo doy ains nos va a volver locos este tio. Siempre lo mismo, vaya reputación se está ganando

Ya le dijo Rimbert a Juan que lo de Italia no era mas que un showcase extendido....  el lado bueno de todo esto es que nos ahorramos ver a Jarre haciendo el ridículo de nuevo.....  ya habrá mas ocasiones.  Si me jode es por Zopa, Guille, Paquidermo, Juan y todos aquellos que han organizado un viaje de puta madre para ver algo que no merecía tanto esfuerzo...  si os vais a Italia disfrutar del viaje y que le den a Jarre.

Lo que sí es cierto es que toda esta historia es una tocada de buevos tremenda... Es cierto que este juego de cancelación-no cancelación ya se había sufrido antes, pero claro, cuando todavía faltaba bastante tiempo (en el ejemplo de Gdansk, como podemos leer arriba, lo de las cancelaciones y no cancelaciones pasó más de un mes y medio antes del concierto y antes de que salieran las entradas a la venta). Este caso es gravísimo, por que el Josmar tiene la pataleta, pero Powerstock continúa vendiendo y vendiendo y todo esto a SÓLO 5 días del concierto y con todos los planes, obviamente, hechos por parte de los asistentes... Me siento como un hijo cuyos padres se divorcian, se tiran los trastos a la cabeza, negocian el convenio regulador, y a mí que me den por culo en el ínterin. P&P para el Josmar, Powerstock y su futa madre!!!  :x :x

Lo que no me parece es juzgar a Jarre como si todo fuese su culpa, menos sabiendo la cantidad de gente que participa en un evento asì.

Habrà que esperar, que sabemos que Jarre es muy quisquilloso y si no se hacen las cosas a su manera puede terminar todo mal. Mientras no se sepa realmente lo que pasò me parece muy apresurado mentarle la madre a Jarre.

Muy cierto Dzoolook. Estoy alucinando con todo este tema, y pienso como tú, aunque cuando he querido pensar algo positivo que decir, no se me ha ocurrido, si yo hubiera podido ir a Italia con vosotros, no podría evitar estar de un humor de perros en estos momentos... creo.

Hombre, id a ver a Moby, por lo menos, y a disfrutar de un peazo viaje en tan numerosamente grata compañía!

Pero en el fondo yo estaría cabreado, si finalmente no hay concierto, cosa que dudo; es decir, creo que al final lo habrá. La organización no se puede permitir el ridículo de la cancelación, y a JMJ tampoco le viene bien, no nos vamos a engañar. Esta pataleta obedece a su forma de ser de toda la vida, no es algo nuevo, En China, mismamente, podría haber sido igual si no podan los dichosos arbolitos. :lol:...

Las manías de un genio perfeccionista, por lo menos a la hora de montar espectáculos. ¡Paciencia y ánimo!

Pero... si hay concierto... ¿significará que ha habido concesiones, y con eso JMJ justifica que el concierto no sea tan bueno?

En fin... eso en un año en el que tiene en bandeja media docena de proyectos más...

Hello Fans,

This afternoon, I have been in contact with Jean Michel Jarre's Management, Aero Productions, with regards to my recent conversations with the Powerstock Festival Organisers, and asked for them to once again clarify their situation to Fans. Their response is below:-

"We maintain our position as of yesterday as final. We have received no contract signed nor downpayment. We shall endeavour to have Powerstock confirm our position."

Aero Productions have also advised that due to Warner Music France's weekend office closure, the Official Statement of the Concert's cancellation will not be posted on Jean Michel Jarre's Official Web-Site (www.jeanmicheljarre.com) until Monday.
